This pack contains risk assessment forms for a childminder’s house, garden, car and resources.
Childminders must conduct a risk assessment which is part of the Welfare Requirements as stated in the EYFS Statutory Framework.

Welfare Requirements:
Suitable premises, equipment and environment. Outdoor and indoor spaces, and furniture, equipment and toys, must be safe and suitable for their purpose. Childminders must take reasonable steps to ensure that hazards to children both indoors and outdoors are minimised. The risk assessment should cover anything which a child may come into contact with.

All About Me – book is one way in which to gather knowledge of a child in your setting. It can be completed when first getting to know a child and at other times to inform you about which areas you may wish to observe and develop in more detail. All About Me book can be developed one stage further – as a tool when planning high quality experiences for the child.

Childminders Daily Diary
It is a good practice to provide a Daily Diary for each child in your setting. A daily diary acts as a tool for communication between the childminder and the parent. “Effective communication means there is a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise between parents and practitioners” – Working in partnership with parents
This Daily Diary has a page for each day. Details are easy to complete. It covers daily activities, milestones achievements, meals, sleep, toileting, notes, reminders, parent’s comment etc
